Guidelines for Product Submission

• We will reject software that has reliability issues, has offensive or inappropriate content, or contains hacking or damaging tools.
• Your product details should contain description of any add-ons or separate software, included in the download file, that do not comprise the main content of the software. The description should give complete description of the file, its components and functionality.
• For any upgrades to old software, you should include the new version number or name in the product description. You should also highlight the specific new features of the upgrade version in the description. You should check for and remove any inconsistency in the version number in product detail vis-à-vis the downloadable file.
• The users should have the option and ability to cancel download, cancel installation or uninstall all components of the software from their system.
• If there is any virus detected in any files, we will remove the software from our list until you provide us with a new virus-free file.
• The software must be clearly labeled if it is a beta, demo or trial version. Any user licenses or agreements must be included in the product details.
• In case of a demo or trial version, you must include the specific limitations associated with the functionality of the demo or trial version, as compared to the full version.
• By submitting your software you explicitly affirm that you either hold all copyrights or trademarks for that product or otherwise you have the necessary permission from the entity who holds that copyright/ trademark. We will remove your product from our site if there is any conflict related to such an issue.
• You can submit only one list entry for a specific product.
• You must provide a download link that will immediately initiate the file download upon execution of the link.

Guidelines for Banner Ad submissions

• All creatives must function uniformly on both PC and Mac platforms.
• Ads must be distinct and separate from the website content. Creatives with a white/ colorless background should be enclosed by a border.
• Ads should not imply any affiliation or endorsement by The Download Guide unless such an affiliation or endorsement is real. Use of any logos, images, or brand name of The Download Guide is not allowed in a creative.
• Advertisements cannot mimic news headlines in design, tone, 3rd person sentence structure, or topic.
  If, after clicking on a creative, the user is unable to return to The Download Guide by clicking on "Back" button on the browser, such an ad will be rejected by The Download Guide.
• A specific URL link (click-through destination) must be included with every banner.
• Animated ads can have no more than 3 loops regardless of length; All ad looping must come to a finite end.
• Free-form overlay ads (DHTML) must include a prominently visible close button and run a maximum of 10 seconds.
• Mouse-over interaction with an ad within a page can only provoke ad interaction within the current open browser window and cannot link a user to a new Web site.
• Ads containing deceptive statements or offensive illustrations will not be accepted.
• Rich media banners or simple text banners are welcomed provided they meet the total byte size requirements of their respective size.
• Multiple banners are allowed. They are simply randomly selected for display when a banner from your account is up for viewing.
• All payment must be made in full before the ad is displayed on The Download Guide.
• We have the right to reject any ad if it does not meet any of the above requirements or otherwise.
